Like any other typical workday, I woke up around 7.30am (grudgingly), fumbled my way to the kitchen to wash up and get ready for work. As usual, I opened the windows and looked about Mt Faber's hillsides while trying to wake up.
Usually I don't see anything interesting but for today, I got morning greetings from this little visitor. It was sitting rather comfortably on the wall outside my kitchen window. I'm no expert on insects but this should be a cicada.A borrowed topic from the missus. She listed 3 computer functions she would like to have.
For me, think I only want 1.
Restore - This allows you to restore your PC to the a previously saved point in time. Kinda like reversing time. Undo typically only allows you to go back 1 or even 2 steps. This lets you go back as far as you have save points.
As you can tell, I have quite a few regrets in life. =)
Today is 14/01/2008 and guess what!? It's the Smurfs 50th birthday! Cool! I grew up watching them thwarting Gargamel's plans to roast them every Sunday morning. I will be having breakfast sitting in front of the tv set and I recall I was rather upset when SBC stopped airing the show. Good thing I had Gummi Bears after that. =D
Have a smurfy day!!
*La..la lala.la.la, la..lala.la..la......*
Ok, it's Christmas Eve. Time for a little good food for dinner. Main course for tonight? A nice lamb roast in an onion based gravy. My first time doing a proper roast so I hope it turns out ok. I didn't manage to get a meat thermometer so will have to rely on my trusty old gut feeling. Let's see if it's photo worthy by the time I am done.
Update: Yay! It's not a disaster and very edible too! Many thanks to my gut feelings for being more accurate then on most days! A slight problem with the onion gravy but still, pretty well done in general. Merry Christmas everyone!! =)
My most recent foray into cooking - Chinese Herbal Soups!
The missus has been suffering from a dry cough the past month so I decided to dish out a little 药膳 or Chinese Herbal Food to see if it would help. It's basically to harness chinese herbal properties in your regular food and one of the easier ways to do it is via soups.
This particular soup is to help 驱寒 or remove "coldness" from the body. It was suppose to be lamb but as Murphy's Law would have it, I couldn't find any at the supermarket so I used a chicken drumstick. =P
For the curious, you can click here to see how it looks like.
Ok, It's not exactly your Harry Potter type potion but I'll bet mine tastes better!
This thursday morning is greeted by sunshine. Long anticipated by anyone with laundry to do, today is the day to wash all the clothes and sun anything you wish to dry. So, fire up that trusty washing machine and bring out the bamboo poles coz you might not have the sun tomorrow!
